Toyota FT 86
The recently revealed Toyota and Subaru-developed compact sports car will be one of the stars in the new Gran Turismo 5 game. This promotional video clip features the Toyota FT-86 in motion under different circumstances. First off a trailer, then doing town and scenic routes and finally power sliding (leaving both rubber and smoke) on a couple of racing tracks.
The FT-86 makes its public debut as a concept at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. It uses a 2.0-litre boxer engine making a dismal 118kW (160hp). Some have said a more powerful version with about 147kW (200hp) is planned. Mated with the unit is a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Dimensions are 4.16 metres for length, 1.26m high, 1.76m wide and a wheelbase of 2.57m. The car is expected to make production as a fun, affordable, compact and eco-friendly sports car.
